Hats off to Plaid

Plaid was one of the biggest trends for the fall, but do not tuck away your plaid items quite yet. The trend is still in full effect and will surely enhance your look this winter. The holidays are over and a new season is just beginning. My new admiration for plaid began with this oversized plaid scarf from Zara, that they are unfortunately sold out of now. I never got my hands on it, but I borrowed my sister’s similar scarf that she had hanging in her closet for a day of coffee with my dear friend, Courtney.

Plaid was seen across the runways from Tommy Hilfiger to Rodarte.

& the trend did not escape street style this fall from scarves to capes to jackets.

I took my sister’s plaid scarf for a spin with a floppy wool hat & my favorite coated black jeans from Madewell.

new love for nashville

Thankfully the University of Texas has the LONGEST winter break ever allowing an impromptu road trip right before the break ends. My three friends and I drove nine and a half hours to explore the city of Nashville for the first time. I think the best part of last minute travels is the freedom of no plans. It was the best time thanks to airbnb, $5 songwriting shows, tons of wonderful food (especially the ice cream), and can I get an amen for cheap gas prices!!

DCIM100GOPRO  if you love shopping vintage, Nashville is the place for you- Savonte is a MUST.DCIM100GOPRO Processed with VSCOcam with g3 preset & this intricate dragon park may have been one of the highlights of the trip- especially for Maddie who called this place her “childhood wonderland.”

Nashville is for sure one of my favorite cities. It seems that every city I travel to becomes “my favorite.” Giggles and exploring for a couple of days before another semester begins was just what I needed.

goals for twenty fifteen.

I have a good feeling for 2015. *cue The Black Eyed Peas* Maybe it’s just the excitement of a new year. Somehow just a one day turn around causes a sense of a fresh start. The beginning months of this year already bring exciting travels, and I have goals that I know will be accomplished by the end of this year that make me feel SO ambitious. I knew it was going to be a good year when I was surrounded by my best friends with party hats dancing to the blasting sounds of Uptown Funk as the clock struck midnight.

I have never been one to record my New Year’s Resolutions. But this year, I took time to list out goals I have for this year. I will share a couple on here, & I will hopefully be able to cross off the list as the year goes by and creating posts on my goals being accomplished.

This list is very similar to the list I made a couple posts ago when I turned twenty.

Let’s be excited for this new year together!!! Great things can happen with the right attitude.
